The TPS709 series of linear regulators are ultralow, quiescent current devices designed for powersensitive applications. A precision band-gap and error amplifier provides 2% accuracy over temperature. Product DescriptionThe MAX481, MAX485, MAX490, MAX491 and MAX1487 can transmit at up to 2.5Mbps thanks to their unrestricted driver slew rates. When empty or fully loaded with deactivated drivers, these transceivers use between 120µA and 500µA of supply current. The MAX481, MAX483, and MAX487 also offer a low-current shutdown mode where they use just 0.1µA. A single 5V supply powers every component. The thermal shutdown circuitry, which converts the driver outputs into a high-impedance condition, limits the short-circuit current of the drivers and protects them from excessive power dissipation. If the receiver input is open circuit, a fail-safe mechanism ensures a logic-high output.
